With a small retail and office space, this 30 year old fine Art Gallery had just passed on ownership to a new director. She wanted a fresh look that showcased perfectly the artwork for sale yet provided abundant room 42+ person workspace and the client or two to sit, relax and buy.
I fought hard for the wall color – fundamental to a room filled mostly with 19th-century guilt framed paintings– because I wanted contrast, as if the artwork was drawing away from the rooms perimeter.
The custom designed workspace functions perfectly as two desktops, pass-through vertical art storage, art/book display and archive filing. The client is so pleased that she brings the furnishings on the road to the international art fairs where she exhibits.
